Gifted and Talented High School Students
Academically gifted and talented students
- Can be a high school freshmen or sophomore
- Must have approval to enroll under this admissions category from your high school and the DSCC Office of Admissions and Records
- Are limited to enrollment in no more than nine credit hours per semester
- Must take DSCC courses in concert with the high school unit requirements
- Cannot use DSCC courses in the place of high school unit requirements

Are not eligible to receive financial aid, including the TN Dual Enrollment Grant
Complete the Gifted and Talented Enrollment Application, if you did not attend DSCC the previous semester excluding summer. First-time applicants are required to pay a one-time, $10 application fee with their initial application.
- Submit the Gifted and Talented Permission Form to the Office of Admissions and Records.
- Submit an official copy of your high school transcript indicating a 3.2 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale.)
- Provide proof of immunizations.
- Review course placement before attempting to register for classes!
- Pay any balance owed or set up deferred payment arrangements at the DSCC Business Office by the advertised deadline. Dependents of public school teachers and TBR or UT employees may qualify for a discount. Discount forms can be obtained from the parent’s employer and should be received by the Business Office by the deadline to pay fees. Call the Business Office with questions at 731/286-3319.
