The National ACT is given five times a year: October, December, February, April, and June. Students are encouraged to take the National ACT prior to entering a new semester because National ACT scores can be transferred to any school in the nation.
Students wanting to register for the National ACT may register at www.ACT.org. Registration and fee payment MUST be made directly with ACT. The DSCC ACT school code is 3969.
The Residual ACT is given only to DSCC students. The scores of the Residual ACT cannot be transferred to another school and cannot be used to determine eligibility for any of the Tennessee Education Lottery Scholarship programs. The fee for taking the Residual ACT is $37.00. Payment is made at the DSCC Business Office or One Stop Centers. The student needs to bring the fee receipt and a photo ID on the day of the test. The Residual ACT is only given at the Dyersburg main campus and the JNC.
Students may use a calculator on the ACT Mathematics Test but not on any of the other tests in the ACT. A calculator is not required. The student is responsible for knowing if the calculator is permitted. The student may use any four-function, scientific, or graphing calculator. Check the ACT Calculator Policy.
