HESI (Pre-Admisison Test for Nursing Program Candidates)

The HESI test is administered as part of the selection process for the Traditional Nursing Program.The test fee $32.00 is payable in the Business Office located in the Eller Building on the Dyersburg Campus, the One Stop located in the Student Center on the Dyersburg Campus or at the main desk in the Jimmy Naifeh Building at the Jimmy Naifeh Center in Tipton County. The fee must be paid prior to taking the test. Applicants must present fee receipt and a Photo ID the day of the test. The HESI test is 3 hours. Appointments must be made prior to testing.

The test consists of:

  • Math (Calculators are allowed)
  • Reading Comprehension
  • Vocabulary
  • Grammar
  • Anatomy and Physiology
  • Biology
  • Learning Styles
  • Personality Profile

Results of the test are available immediately at the conclusion of the test and are discussed with each applicant.  Results are then forwarded to the Division of Nursing and Allied Health.
