TEAS (Pre-Admission Test for Nursing Program Candidates)

The Division of Nursing Traditional Nursing Program admissions exams is now the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS).  Applicants will create an account, register and pay for the exam on the ATI Nursing Education website, www.atitesting.com. Applicants may not pay DSCC for the exam. The fee for the TEAS is $70.00.

TEAS can be taken as many times as needed with the highest grade being used.  Students must wait at least six (6) months in between testing dates.  TEAS scores are good for three (3) years. For admission into the DSCC Nursing program, the TEAS Exam must be taken at the DSCC Dyersburg Campus or the DSCC Jimmy Naifeh Center at Tipton County, no exceptions.

The TEAS Exam consists of four sections:

  • Reading Assessment – 48 questions; 58 minutes
  • Math Assessment – 34 questions; 51 minutes
  • Science Assessment – 54 questions; 66 minutes
  • English and Language Usage Assessment – 34 questions; 34 minutes

Late entrance is not possible once testing has started. Arrive 10 to 15 minutes before exam start time. Testing will be held in Room 126 of the Student Center on the Dyersburg Campus, and Room 138 of the Baptist Academic Building at the DSCC Jimmy Naifeh Center at Tipton County.
