Upward Bound

Upward Bound students.

Upward Bound is a federal TRIO grant funded by the U.S. Department of Education whose goal is to offer high school students the opportunity to attend and complete college.  The program provides high school students with fundamental support in academic tutoring, advising, career and social skills while providing cultural experiences and travel as well. Qualifying students are from low-income and first generation families in which neither parent holds a bachelor’s degree. UB students are selected based on academic need and recommendations from their teachers, principles and other educators.

Students are recruited into the Upward Bound program as high school sophomores and complete the program when they graduate high school.  Upward Bound tracks the post-secondary enrollment and graduation of all students who enter the program and graduate. The long term goal of Upward Bound and our staff is to see your COLLEGE DIPLOMA!
