Qualifying students are from low-income and first generation families in which neither parent holds a bachelor’s degree. Upward Bound students are selected based on academic need and recommendations from their teachers, principals and other educators.

Students are recruited into the Upward Bound program as high school sophomores and complete the program when they graduate high school. Upward Bound tracks the postsecondary enrollment and graduation of all students who enter the program and graduate. The long term goal of Upward Bound and our staff is to earn your COLLEGE DIPLOMA!
