Artist Reception at the JNC

Kristi Duckworth exhibit on display through Oct. 23

An art exhibit by Kristi Duckworth is currently on display at the Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) Jimmy Naifeh Center at Tipton County. Her art will be on display through October 23 throughout the Ripley Power and Light Lobby inside the Learning Resource Center, Student Center and Tipton County Public Library. An artist’s reception will be held at this location October 9 from 6:30-8 p.m.


Originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, Duckworth moved to Memphis in 1985 to attend Memphis State University where she earned a degree in graphic design. She received several public art commissions including Cancer Survivors Park, Memphis Grizzlies Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis Botanic Garden and The Blues Foundation. She operated Garden Path Studio in downtown Memphis for over eight years, hosting art events, teaching classes and completing private commissions. Duckworth recently moved to Shakerag, Tennessee, where she practices and teaches art. She is currently working on a private tile commission for a coffee bar in Memphis and a senior class project for Lausanne Collegiate School, and is teaching at Hutchison School in Memphis and Madonna Learning Center in Germantown for children, teenagers and adults with special needs. More information about Duckworth’s art can be found at
