Transfer Student
A student who is transferring to Dyersburg State Community College to earn credit for an associate degree from Dyersburg State Community College must follow these procedures:
-- Submission of a completed Application for Admission (Apply Online). A non-refundable $10 application fee will be assessed at the time of intitial registration.
-- Submission of an official copy of high school transcript verifying the date of graduation.
-- Submission of official copies of transcripts from each college or university attended. Concealment of previous college or university attendance may be cause for rejection, cancellation of admission, or dismissal of the student.
-- Course placement for Transfer students will be based on the following: a. Transfer students who have completed a college-level English and mathematics course with a grade of “C” or higher will be placed in all college-level courses. b. For Transfer students who do not meet this criterion and are under the age of 21, course placement will be determined by ACT scores. If ACT scores are older than three years, the student will be required to retake the ACT. c. Transfer students 21 and over who have not had college-level English or mathematics with a grade of "C" or higher or do not have sufficient or valid ACT scores will be required to take the Computerized Placement Assessment and Support System (COMPASS) test. Consult the DSCC Testing Center page on this Web site for a testing schedule. -- Unless exempted under Tennessee Code Annotated, proof of immunization with two doses of Measles, Mumps, and Rubella vaccines, administered on or after the first birthday, is required for attendance to all universities and colleges with an enrollment of greater than two hundred students. Non-exempt students who do not provide the required proof will be restricted to 11 credit hours.
-- The General Assembly of the State of Tennessee mandates that public or private postsecondary institutions provide information concerning Hepatitis B infection to all students matriculating for the first time.
