| Eligibility To be eligible for the Honors Program, students must meet the following criteria: Entering Freshmen- 1. High school GPA of 3.5 or higher on 4.0 scale and ACT composite score of 26 or higher 2. Provisional acceptance as a first time, degree-seeking student Current Students- 1. Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher 2. Twelve hours or more of college credit work | | Maintaining Eligibility Students must complete at least one course with an honors option with a grade of B or higher each semester after admission to the Honors Program. Honors students must also maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better on all college-level course work. Honors Program Requirements Honors students must complete the following requirements in order to graduate successfully from the Honors Program: 1. Honors students must attend an honors orientation at the beginning of the first semester after admission to the Honors Program. 2. Honors students must complete at least 12 hours of courses with honors options prior to graduation. Only grades of B or better will be considered in determining successful completion of the Honors Program. Honors credit will not be awarded for any course with an honors option in which a student receives a grade of less than a B. 3. Honors students must complete an Honors Project (1 hour credit) in the last semester of the Honors Program with a grade of B or higher. Honors Project The honors student will be responsible for selecting an Honors Facilitator from the Honors Faculty and developing and completing an Honors Project. The Honors Facilitator will work with the honors student and arrange for an appropriate presentation of the Honors Project to faculty, staff, students, and community. The Honors Project will represent a synthesis of an honors student's learning while at Dyersburg State. An Honors Project must be completed with a grade of B or higher for an honors student to receive credit and graduate with Honors from Dyersburg State. Graduation Students who successfully complete the Honors Program with a grade of B or higher in all courses with an honors option and who complete the Honors Project with a B or better will graduate from Dyersburg State “with honors.” Transcripts for these students will indicate that the student has graduated “with honors.” Diplomas will carry a seal indicating the student has graduated with honors.
