To improve the quality of life in the College’s service area, faculty and staff promote service learning opportunities; advise students on curricular matters; sponsor student organizations; organize cultural and academic events for the community; collaborate with employers, schools and community organizations; and volunteer their time and services to various agencies. The developmental studies program, a department within the Division of Arts and Sciences, assists students in attaining college-level competencies in reading, writing and mathematics. Arts and Sciences faculty meet or exceed the qualifications established for colleges by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
