Thank you for your interest in participating in A Day in the Life of Dyersburg State Community College
Project Overview: Area photographers are invited to come to the DSCC Dyersburg campus and centers to take photographs on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 between the hours of 7:00 A.M and 9:00 P.M. Participating photographers will then submit their photos to the DSCC Office of Public Information (OPI) on the Dyersburg campus, the main desk of the DSCC Jimmy Naifeh Center at Tipton County, or the main desk at the DSCC Obion County Center on or before noon on Friday, September 25. From these submissions, photographs will be selected for use in DSCC’s 08-09 Annual Report which will be formatted as a calendar. This Annual Report is used to showcase Dyersburg State and is distributed to friends of the college each year. On November 16, the DSCC OPI will host a reception in the Learning Resource Center on the Dyersburg campus for those who participated in the competition and will invite the general public to attend. The selected photos will be displayed. The display will also be shown at the DSCC Jimmy Naifeh Center at Tipton County and the DSCC Gibson County Center.
To participate: You must register with the DSCC Office of Public Information located in the Eller Administration Building, room 150 on the Dyersburg campus, the main desk of the DSCC Jimmy Naifeh Center at Tipton County, or the main desk at the DSCC Obion County Center by Monday, September 14. Pick up an entry packet, agree to, sign and turn in the participation and photo submission requirements form to have your photo identification badge made. There is no fee to participate.
Participation Requirements: • All guest photographers must wear the identification badge provided while taking part. • Guest photographers must be as unobtrusive as possible while on campus or at the centers. • Each photographer assumes the responsibility for his/her own safety and will use common sense while taking part. • Photographers will shoot between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 9:00 P.M. • Participating photographers assign all rights to the photos submitted to DSCC for use in promoting the college in any and all media. • Photographers’ acknowledgement (credit) will be given on any photos used and/or published, but no other compensation, monetary or otherwise, will be provided. • Each photographer may submit up to five entries.
Photo Submission Requirements: • All photos and digital images submitted must be original work of submitter. • Any photograph that features DSCC student(s) must be accompanied by a signed photo release. The college will provide release forms in the participation packet. • Images will be submitted in digital format and must be a minimum of 300 DPI. • Images must be named on CD or DVD as follows: lastname.firstname. Image name identifier.sequence number (i.e.-kent.clark.astronomy.001). • Entries submitted that are not in accordance with these rules will not be considered.
