Regents Online Degree Program
The Regents Online Degree Program (RODP) allows students from all Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) institutions to take courses that may be taught by an instructor at another TBR institution. For instance, DSCC students may take a course that is taught by a University of Memphis or Jackson State Community College instructor. The major differences between an RODP course and a DSCC Online course are:
- The instructor may be at another TBR institution which could make it difficult to drop by their office and get assistance.
- There is an RODP Fee associated with RODP courses in addition to tuition costs.
- Textbook information must be obtained from the RODP Bookstore website. The DSCC Bookstore will not have your RODP textbook in stock.
A major misconception about RODP courses is that RODP courses are different than DSCC courses. This is not the case. RODP is a delivery mechanism similar to that of face-to-face, online, and hybrid courses. You Apply, Find Courses, Register, and Pay for RODP courses just like you would any other DSCC Course. In fact, your Financial Aid, Degree, Transcripts, and other administrative services are also completed through DSCC.
The only differences are those stated above.

RODP Welcome Letter:
Hello
RODP Student!
Thank
you for your interest in the Regents Online
Degree Program (RODP). As you know, these online classes provide
students the opportunity to continue or complete
their education at a time that is convenient to
their individual schedule.
Here
is some important information:
- Textbooks for
RODP classes are not available at the Dyersburg State Community College
campus bookstore. You are responsible for purchasing
your textbooks in a timely manner to ensure
you are prepared and ready to participate in
your class the first day. The books must be ordered through the
TBR Virtual Bookstore. The link can be found on the RODP
website at www.rodp.org.
- For students who receive financial aid: The report on your attendance in RODP courses is an automatic data extraction. When you enter your course for the first time, a record is made automatically. That information is provided DSCC’s Financial Aid office after the 4th, 9th and 15th days of class. Your RODP instructor does not report your attendance in RODP courses and you will see that they have not verified you until DSCC receives and processes the file on the 4th, 9th, and 15th days of class. This means that if you attend your class on the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd day of classes (not the day of the month), you’ll be reported on the 4thd day of classes. If you do not log in until the 5th day, you will not be reported until the 9th day and so forth.
- Get your username and password: You'll need a different username and password than you use for DSCC . To get information regarding your username and password, visit https://elearn.rodp.org. Click on "how do students login" in red on the right-hand side of the website to get log into your RODP classes.
- Students
cannot log in to their class until the
published date that classes begin.
- In certain
cases, RODP classes require that some of the
tests be proctored. Please make sure and read each course
syllabus carefully to find out if the course
has this requirement. If the course has that requirement,
please visit www.dscc.edu/online to schedule an appointment for testing
online.
Please use the online tools provided for
learning how to access and navigate your way
through the class. You can also click on the “Go to Class”
link and complete the orientation. Tutorials are available at http://www.rodp.org/current-students/orientation#d2l.
Feel
free to contact me with any questions you may
have about RODP or Dyersburg State Community
College. I truly look forward to helping you as
you pursue your academic endeavors!
