Yes, provided you have Internet access at home. In fact, you can access your DSCC eLearn courses from any computer anywhere provided it has an Internet connection.
Online courses require at least as much effort and time as traditional courses, if not more. Since students work primarily on their own without face-to-face contact with instructors, they may not always have regular classroom reminders and clarifications available to students in traditional courses.
Online courses follow the same schedule as traditional courses. These are not self-paced courses. Students follow an outline of topics, turn in assignments and take exams on dates scheduled in the course by the instructor. For example, an instructor makes an assignment due on July 8th. The student may work on the assignment any time (night or day). As long as the student turns the completed assignment in by July 8th, the student has met the instructor's expectations.
Each online course may have specific requirements, depending on the course. You should check the Course Syllabus to ensure your PC meets the specifications for the course. Generally, however, you should have a computer that has a Windows XP or better operating system, 512MB of RAM, 80GB Hard Drive, and a processor speed of at least 700 Mhz.
All of Dyersburg State locations have computer labs and resource centers with open lab hours where the courses may be accessed. Of course, to be successful in an online course, you must have reliable access to either a DSCC lab or a computer with Internet access.
Online Classes may be accessed by going to www.dscc.edu, clicking on Online Classes, and logging in with your Dyersburg State student account credentials (username and password). Once you are logged in, you will see your course list. Click on the course name to enter the class. For technical assistance with online classes, contact the LRC Help Desk at 731-288-7780 on the Dyersburg Campus or 901-475-3177 at the Jimmy Naifeh Center or 731-222-5180 at the Gibson County Center. You may also contact the Help Desk by e-mail at email@example.com.

Any DSCC enrolled student whose financial aid assistance is in excess of tuition and fees may apply for a Book Voucher. Application for a Book Voucher is made by completing both the Book Voucher and the Federal Aid Authorization Forms. These forms are available at www.dscc.edu. Fall and Spring vouchers will be issued for up to $600.00, depending upon the excess amount of financial aid after your tuition and fees have been deducted. Summer voucher amounts depend upon the number of hours in which you're enrolled and are limited to the excess amount of financial aid after your tuition and fees are deducted.
If the class added is the same as the class that was dropped , then the fees should remain the same. However , if you drop 3.0 hr class and add a 4.0 hr class , then the fees will increase. Additionally , a DSCC class that is exchanged with a RODP class will result in an increase in fees because there are additional fees associated with RODP classes. If your schedule change was due to an institution cancellation, your fees will be corrected.
Unless you dropped BEFORE the first day of the term, you will not be eligible for 100% refund of any payments made towards that term. Also, any refunds apply to tuition ONLY. All fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.
Each student is given 300 sheets per semester to use for printing.
