Feather, Rockett and Williams have served since the DSCC opened
October 16 marked a special service awards presentation for Dyersburg State Community College as one staff and two faculty members were recognized for 40 years of employment with the college. Professor of Music and Speech Carol Feather, Professor of Biology Billy Williams and Director of Financial Aid Sandra Rockett received this recognition from Dyersburg State President Karen Bowyer at the Annual Fall Conference for faculty and staff members held at the Student Center on the Dyersburg campus. Feather, Williams, and Rockett were among the first employees hired by the college during its first year of operation.
“It has been a fulfilling experience to watch not only the growth and expansion of the college, but to continually meet graduates and hear of the contributions they are making to our area,” said Feather.
Each of the 40 year award recipients will have an engraved brick bearing their name added to the 40th anniversary walkway outside the new Student Center on the Dyersburg campus.
Those employed by the college for 35, 30, 25, 20, 15, 10 and 5 years were also recognized and given certificates and service award pins.
