Confirming Enrollment

Confirmation of Enrollment - What does it mean?

  • By confirming enrollment, you are instructing Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) that you will be attending the courses for which you have enrolled and asking DSCC to reserve those course seats for which you are registered.

  • By doing so, you are agreeing that you are financially responsible for the educational costs (tuition, fees, etc...) associated with these classes. Even if you expect financial aid to pay all or part of your financial obligations to the Institution, you understand that it is your responsibility to meet all requirements for disbursement to your student account. You are agreeing that the Institution use the financial aid to pay for all education costs charged to your student account for your entire period of enrollment or attendance at the Institution.

  • You understand that it is your responsibility to ensure that all requirements of grantors, lenders, employers, and other third party payers are met on a timely basis.

  • You understand that despite your expectations for payment from financial aid or other sources, that you are ultimately responsible for all charges incurred.

  • You understand that your financial aid may be adjusted due to eligibility. You agree to pay back to the Institution any amounts that you are not eligible for under applicable financial aid guidelines.

  • You understand that in order to eliminate this financial responsibility, you must OFFICIALLY WITHDRAW (DROP) from each class by 11:59 pm BEFORE the first day of each term.

Students must accept the responsibilities of their financial aid by Confirming Enrollment.

You must pay and confirm enrollment no later than January 10, 2017 in order to maintain the classes for which you registered and to initiate processing of book voucher applications (if applicable).

If you have a credit balance (amount with a minus sign), you do not owe anything at that point and should be able to confirm. Students must confirm enrollment no later than January 10, 2017 to hold their classes if their account will be paid in full by:

  • Loans
  • Grants
  • Scholarships
  • State/Federal vocational rehabilitation
  • Other Financial Aid

If your account balance is not $0.00 or a credit balance, you must pay your account balance. Financial aid may not cover all tuition and fees for some students. Confirming enrollment will not be necessary for students who make payment arrangements by January 10, 2017 (or at the time of registration if after January 10, 2017) as you will automatically be confirmed.

If you choose not to attend DSCC during the spring 2017 term:

Failure to attend class will not relieve you of the financial responsibilities nor will you be dropped from the classes, which will result in "F" grades on all courses for which you registered.

  • You MUST withdraw from all classes BEFORE the first day of the term, January 17, 2017, to avoid any financial responsibility for those classes.

REMINDER!
If you have not confirmed your enrollment by January 10, 2017, you will be purged from your schedule.

Reviewing your class schedule does not confirm enrollment. If you register for any class after January 10, 2017, you must pay at the time of registration, or you may be removed from the class again due to nonpayment.

INSTRUCTIONS TO CONFIRM ENROLLMENT

Students with partial financial aid are not considered confirmed until the balance is paid in full or until enrollment in the Deferred Payment Plan has been completed and the appropriate deferred payment is made.
    • Once you've confirmed enrollment, if you choose not to attend DSCC during the Spring 2017 term, you MUST withdraw from all classes BEFORE the first day of the term, January 17, 2017, in order to avoid any financial responsibility for those classes.
