Counseling
DSCC's Counselor/ADA Coordinator offers a variety of services to all students. The goal of the Counselor is to assist with student development and student success, helping students make wise personal and professional choices.
The goal of the Counselor is accomplished by:
- Helping students sort out difficulties in their lives that might be interfering with their ability to do school work;
- Providing college-wide programing on relevant topics;
- Presenting on various topics to classes upon request;
- Serving as a referral source to help meet student needs via community resources and various media available;
- Providing short term individual counseling;
- Assisting students with the exploration of personal and professional choices.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- We value your privacy and understand that it is often very difficult to come to a counselor. Your information will not be shared without your express permission.
- When appropriate the counselor may make an outside referral for further counseling.
- Students with disabilities may also contact the Counselor/ADA Coordinator for assistance.
Appointments may be made in person in room 156 of the Math Building on the Dyersburg Campus, by calling 731/286-3242 or by sending an email to counselor@DSCC.edu.
Appointments are available at the Jimmy Naifeh Center in Tipton County on Tuesday of each week classes are in session and upon request other days. Students may meet with the counselor via Skype from the JNC. Call 731/286-3242 or email counselor@DSCC.edu to make arrangements.
Appointments are available at the Gibson County Center on a date advertised at the office each month and upon request other days. Students may meet with the counselor via Skype from the Gibson County Center. Call 731/286-3242 or email counselor@DSCC.edu to make arrangements.
Students who attend all classes online are invited to contact the counselor by phone at 731/286-3242 or by email to counselor@DSCC.edu. Meetings by Skype may be arranged.
