During the summer months, Dyersburg State Community College is holding Focus sessions for new students. At these sessions, held on the Dyersburg campus and at the DSCC centers, students cover important information prior to the start of classes that will allow them to make the best start to possible.
Since January, the DSCC Complete College Academy Team has been researching what it takes to get new students off to the best start possible. Through this, the new student five-part, year-long process called FOCUS: The DSCC First-Year Experience Program has been developed. There are five major parts to the DSCC FOCUS program: First Things First and FOCUS sessions, Open House, Orientation 1010 Course, Unleash Success and Steps toward Success.
All incoming students are encouraged to attend a FOCUS session this summer and can sign up through the FOUS: First Year Experience Program link at the right.
