The DSCC Eagle sports teams will be flying high with the help of the 2012-13 cheerleading squad.  Chosen to cheer for DSCC are Gabbi Spivey, Emily Noel, Shirlita McGee and Pier Dobbins from Dyersburg; Lilly Murray of Newbern; Laura Ashley Baker of Tiptonville; and Kara Hensen of Dyer.

The DSCC Cheerleading team is chosen by a panel of judges during spring semester for the following academic year. The selection is based on the applicant’s academic standing, school enthusiasm and cheerleading skill. Those selected to cheer for DSCC receive a performance-based scholarship.

Kate Thompson, owner and operator of Rainbow Gymnastics and Cheer, is the coach of the squad. Larenda Fultz, dean of Student Services for Dyersburg State is the team's sponsor.
