DSCC Hosts Annual Foundation Board Dinner
Dyersburg, Tennessee – Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) held its Annual Foundation Board Meeting and Dinner Nov. 19 at the Student Center on the Dyersburg campus. Over 65 DSCC faculty, staff, board members and their guests were in attendance for the special event.
Dinner was followed by entertainment provided by the DSCC Jazz Choir ‘Syncopation’. Dr. Mark Bowers, Chair of the Donor Recognition Committee, opened the meeting for business followed by an update on the College by Dr. Karen Bowyer, President of DSCC.
Student speakers Steven Armstrong and Russell Smith, both of Dyersburg, took the podium to express thanks to the board for their generous support. Outgoing board members were then recognized by Dr. Bowyer and Dr. Bowers and presented with framed certificates of appreciation. Outgoing members included Linda Baker of Baptist East-Memphis, Walt Bradshaw of Bradshaw and Company Insurers, Mary Burks-Minton of Burks Beverage, John Ford of Ford Construction, Dotty Jones of Security Bank-Trenton, Tim Sloan, retired banker and Scott Wright of City Lumber.
In closing, the election of new board members and officers were announced. New members include Dr. Donna Buss of Tennova Healthcare-Dyersburg Regional, Dr. Kevin Cook of C&C Pharmacy, Tony Dement of Forcum Lannom Materials, Barry Frazier of Frazier Roofing and Sheet Metal, Shannon Reburn of Duncan Williams, Inc. and Darren Sells of McDonald’s Restaurants.
Outgoing DSCC foundation board member Walt Bradshaw (left) was presented with a framed certificate of appreciation by Dr. Karen Bowyer (center), President of DSCC, and Dr. Mark Bowers (right) for his years of service on the DSCC Foundation Board.
