Confirming Enrollment

CONFIRMATION OF ENROLLMENT

When you confirm enrollment, you are agreeing that:

  • You will be attending the classes for which you have registered.
  • You understand you are financially responsible for the educational costs (tuition, fees, etc.) associated with the classes for which you have registered. Even if you expect financial aid to pay all or part of your financial obligations to the Institution, you understand that it is your responsibility to meet all requirements for disbursement to your student account. You are agreeing that the Institution use the financial aid to pay for all education costs charged to your student account for your entire period of enrollment or attendance at the Institution.
  • You understand that you are ultimately responsible for all charges incurred, despite your expectations for payment from financial aid or other sources.
  • You understand that it is your responsibility to ensure that all requirements of grantors, lenders, employers, and other third party payers are met on a timely basis.
  • You understand that your financial aid amount may be adjusted due to eligibility. You agree to pay back to the Institution any amounts that you are not eligible for under applicable financial aid guidelines.
  • You understand that in order to eliminate this financial responsibility, you must OFFICIALLY WITHDRAW (DROP) from each class by 11:59 pm BEFORE the first day of each term.
  • You understand that your receipt of aid is contingent upon the receipt of funds by Dyersburg State Community College.

STUDENTS MUST ACCEPT THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THEIR FINANCIAL AID BY CONFIRMING ENROLLMENT.

You must pay AND confirm enrollment no later than August 13, 2018 in order to retain the current Fall term class schedule and to initiate processing of book voucher applications (if applicable). If you register after AUGUST 13, 2018 you must pay at that time or you may be purged due to non-payment during the next purge process.

If you choose not to attend, you MUST WITHDRAW from all classes BEFORE the first day of the term in order to avoid any financial responsibility for those classes.

  • If you have a credit balance (amount with a minus sign), you do not owe anything at that point and should be able to confirm.
  • If loans, grants, scholarships, state or federal vocational rehabilitation or other financial aid sources for which you may be eligible are enough to pay your account balance in full, you should be able to confirm enrollment once the aid is on the student account.
  • If the financial aid is not enough to cover all tuition and fees charged to the student account, the student must pay the account in full or enroll in the Deferred Payment Plan, if eligible, before the term begins.

Confirming enrollment will not be necessary for students who make payment arrangements by AUGUST 13, 2018 (or at the time of registration if after August 13) when paying with cash, credit, or debit card.

Pay in full using cash, check, or credit/debit card.

Failure to attend class will not relieve you of the financial responsibilities. Failure to attend or withdraw timely will result in a grade of "F" in that class.

YOU MUST WITHDRAW FROM ALL CLASSES BEFORE THE FIRST DAY OF THE TERM TO AVOID ANY FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THOSE CLASSES.

REMINDER!
If you have not confirmed your enrollment by August 13, 2018, you will be purged from your schedule.

Reviewing your class schedule does not confirm enrollment. If you register for any class after August 13, 2018, you must pay at the time of registration, or you may be removed from the class again due to nonpayment.

INSTRUCTIONS TO CONFIRM ENROLLMENT

  • Sign into your MyDSCC account using your unique Username and Password
  • Click on the Student Tab.
  • Under Registration Tools, click on Payment of Fees/Confirmation of Enrollment.
  • Select your preferences for receiving a 1098-T.

  • If you will be attending, click on Yes, I will attend during Fall Term 2018 and wait for a confirmation number.
    • If you do not get a confirmation number, this means you have a balance due and the system will automatically re-direct you to your student account activity page. Students with partial financial aid are not considered confirmed until the balance is paid in full.
  • Once you've confirmed enrollment, if you choose not to attend DSCC during the Fall 2018 term, you MUST withdraw from all classes BEFORE the first day of the term, in order to avoid any financial responsibility for those classes. Failure to attend class will not relieve you of the financial responsibilities and, unless you withdraw timely, will result in a grade of  “F”.
