Section 2: Core Requirement 2.11.2
The institution has adequate physical resources to support the mission of the institution and the scope of its programs and services.
Statement of Compliance: Dyersburg State Community College is in compliance with Core Requirement 2.11.2.
Rationale for Judgment of Compliance:
Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) defines having adequate physical resources to support the mission of the institution and the scope of its programs and services as the ability to provide “leadership in public service activities, workforce development projects, and educational collaborations” [Ref 1]. The Office of Finance and Administrative Services prepares a comprehensive plan to maintain physical resources and equipment. The plan includes renewal and replacement strategies for telecommunications, printing services, computers and vehicles. Planning is included in each budget cycle. In addition, funds are maintained to support non-routine maintenance issues that may arise throughout the fiscal year [Ref 2]. DSCC submits annual Capital Outlay and Capital Maintenance Requests to the TBR [Ref 3]. These requests have resulted in the state providing $20,654,500 to DSCC for capital projects for 2005-2007 [Ref 4]. A Master Plan for the Dyersburg campus was completed in April 2004, and a campus Master Plan for the Tipton County Center (renamed the DSCC Jimmy Naifeh Center at Tipton County in 2004) was approved in September 2000 [Ref 5].
See Comprehensive Standard 3.11.3 for a full discussion of the adequacy of DSCC’s physical resources and capital improvement projects.
