COMPLIANCE AUDIT REPORTS

Section 2: Core Requirement 2.3

The institution has a chief executive officer whose primary responsibility is to the institution and who is not the presiding officer of the board.

Statement of Compliance: Dyersburg State Community College is in compliance with Core Requirement 2.3.

Rationale for Judgment of Compliance:

Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) policy provides that “the President of each institution in the System shall be the executive head of the institution and of all its departments, and shall exercise such supervision and direction as will promote the efficient operation of the institution. He or she shall be responsible to the Board through the Chancellor for the operation and management of the institution and for the execution of all directives of the Board and of the Chancellor” [Ref 1]. Dyersburg State Community College Policy similarly sets forth position responsibilities for its President [Ref 2].

State law prohibits the President from being a member of the Board [Ref 3].
