Section 3: Comprehensive Standard 3.2.10

The institution evaluates the effectiveness of its administrators on a periodic basis.

 

Statement of Compliance: Dyersburg State Community College is in compliance with Comprehensive Standard 3.2.10.

 

Rationale for Judgment of Compliance:

 

Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) evaluates the effectiveness of its administrators, including the chief executive officer, on a periodic basis.  As is noted in the DSCC Planning and Evaluation Process [Ref 1], all administrative and staff personnel should be evaluated by April 30 of each year. The DSCC Performance Appraisal Instructions [Ref 2] state that supervisors complete an evaluation form for each of their employees and meet with each employee to discuss the appraisal and suggested changes to the job description during the first three weeks in April and that all appraisal forms are turned in to the President’s Office by way of the President’s staff on the fourth Friday in April.  The President evaluates each of her staff members using the form entitled Performance Evaluation for Administrative Personnel [Ref 3]. This same form is used to evaluate each administrator [Ref 4].

 

As is stated in the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) Policy on the Selection and Retention of Presidents, each president shall be evaluated based upon an evaluation process developed and conducted by the Chancellor [Ref 5]. The President of DSCC is evaluated each year by the Chancellor of the TBR [Ref 6] [Ref 7].
