Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) employs qualified personnel to ensure the quality and effectiveness of its student affairs programs [Ref 1]. All employees are evaluated annually to ensure the continued quality and effectiveness of student services staff. The credentials and evaluations of each employee are maintained in the Human Resources Office and are reviewed periodically by college administrators. The academic credentials are also included in the annual college catalog and student handbook in the Faculty and Staff section [Ref 2].

DSCC encourages professional development for staff members. Each staff member identifies areas for professional development annually as part of the College’s annual performance review [Ref 3]. Travel to professional meetings is encouraged within budget constraints. Individuals and DSCC hold memberships in state and/or professional organizations [Ref 4]. Several staff members have held offices in their professional organizations [Ref 5].

The Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE) [Ref 6] and the DSCC Alumni Survey [Ref 7] indicate that students are satisfied with the student services programs provided by DSCC student services staff.
