The National ACT is given five times a year: October, December, February, April, and June. Applicants for admission under the age of 21 are encouraged to take the National ACT prior to enrolling because the National ACT scores can be transferred to any school in the nation.
People wishing to register for the National ACT may register at www.ACT.org. Registration and the fee payment MUST be made directly to ACT. The DSCC ACT school code is 3969.
The Residual ACT is given only to DSCC applicants for admission. The scores of the Residual ACT cannot be transferred to another school and cannot be used to determine eligibility for any of the Tennessee Education Lottery Scholarship programs. The fee for taking the Residual ACT is $47.50. Payment is made at the DSCC Business Office or One Stop Centers. The test taker needs to bring the fee receipt and a photo ID on the day of the test. The Residual ACT is only given at the Dyersburg Campus and the Jimmy Naifeh Center at Tipton County.
Test takers may use a calculator on the ACT Mathematics test but not on any of the other tests in the ACT. A calculator is not required. The test taker is responsible for knowing if the calculator they plan to use is permitted.Check the ACT Calculator Policy.
