TEAS (Pre-Admission Test for Nursing Program Candidates)

DSCC recommends students wear a face mask while testing inside any DSCC building. Students may bring their own face mask or be provided one at check in.

The Division of Nursing Traditional Nursing Program admissions exam is now the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS).

  • Applicants will create an account, register and pay for the exam on the ATI Nursing Education website, www.atitesting.com.
  • Applicants may not pay DSCC for the exam. The current fee for the TEAS is $90.00 including tax.
  • The TEAS Exam can be taken as many times as needed with the highest grade being used. There is a required six month wait period between retesting. TEAS scores are good for three (3) years. If the TEAS is taken elsewhere, it is the responsibility of the student to submit a copy of his/her score to the Division of Nursing.
  • The Division of Nursing will take the average of the Reading and Math tests for the Assessment Test portion of the point system calculation used to determine program admission.

The TEAS Exam consists of four sections:

  • Reading Assessment – 53 questions; 64 minutes
  • Math Assessment – 36 questions; 54 minutes
  • Science Assessment – 53 questions; 63 minutes
  • English and Language Usage Assessment – 28 questions; 28 minutes

Late entrance is not possible once testing has started. Arrive 10 to 15 minutes before exam start time.
