Dyersburg State Community College Critical Care Paramedic program is a Tennessee EMS Board approved course that involves more than 150 classroom and clinical hours. Our upcoming program will begin on February 12, 2019, and the class meets every Tuesday for 16 weeks. Only 12 applicants are offered a candidate seat in the class.
DSCC Critical Care Paramedic Minimum Student Requirements:
Licensed Tennessee Paramedic with a minimum of 2 years field experience
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Certification
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification
Current PHTLS or equivalent course
Background check with a "Green" or "Pass" score within 90 days of the clinical
The application process opens on Nov. 1, 2018 and closes on Jan. 11, 2019 at 4:30 p.m.

Once an application is received and it is determined that the applicant meets the mandatory minimum requirements to be considered a candidate, the applicant will receive a letter containing the set dates for the entrance exam and interview which are mandated by the Tennessee Division of EMS and DSCC Office of Continuing Education. Each applicant eligible for interview must provide a letter of recommendation/support from their employer at the time of interview.
The course fee is $1,250 and must be paid within one week of your acceptance into the program. The fee covers course instruction, uniform, and books. There is an additional $80 testing fee that the student will need to pay to a private company that administers the certification exam. Class time will be 8:30a.m.- 6:30p.m. The class will meet in the Security Bank Community Learning Center building in room 103, located at 401 Country Club Road, Dyersburg TN 38024.
