DSCC Graduate Greg Gordon Soars to Iona University

Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) Athletics has announced that DSCC Eagle basketball player Greg Gordon of Coral Springs, Florida, signed with Iona University to continue playing college basketball.
Gordon, a 6’5” guard-forward from Coral Springs High School, averaged 23.5 points and 10.4 rebounds per game. He received numerous accolades during his time at DSCC, which include: 21-22 and 22-23 NJCAA Player of the Year; 21-22 Freshman of the Year; 21-22 and 22-23 First Team All TCCAA; 21-22 Third Team All-American; 21-22 Regular Season Champs; 22-23 Offensive Player of the Year; 22-23 Second Team All-American; three-time TCCAA Player of the Week; NJCAA Player of the Week; two-time season scoring leader; two-time rebounding leader; 40 double-doubles; 617 total rebounds; a 49-11 overall record; and led his team to be named the TCCAA Region VII Runners-Up for the past two years.
On Wednesday, January 11, 2023, Greg scored his 1,000th career point during the home game against Southwest Tennessee Community College.
“Greg Gordon is a phenomenal athlete and a valuable team leader. He has been a great asset for Dyersburg State both in the classroom and on the court. We are very proud of Gordon and his accomplishments,” stated Dr. Amanda Walker, vice president of advancement and external affairs and interim athletic director at DSCC.
Greg graduated from Dyersburg State on May 6, 2023, with an Associate of Science degree and plans to pursue a degree in Criminal Justice at Iona University.
