Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) has announced that its 50th annual commencement will recognize candidates for graduation in a virtual prerecorded ceremony June 11. The virtual event is being held in lieu of its traditional in-person ceremony held each May. The College plans to offer graduates the option to attend a future in-person ceremony once it is deemed safe amid COVID-19 concerns.
Prior to March 1 of the academic year you expect to complete all requirements for graduation, meet with your advisor to complete an Intent to Graduate form.
Candidates who have completed the requirements for a General Education Core Certificate but have not yet completed all course requirements for an AA or AS degree should complete the Intent for General Education Certificate.
Students completing requirements for the following are recognized at the annual Commencement ceremony held in May.
Associate of Arts (AA)
Associate of Science (AS)
Associate of Fine Arts (AFA)
Associate of Teaching (AST)
Associate of Applied Science (AAS)
Students completing certificates are also recognized for the accomplishment.
Students completing degree and/or certificate requirements in December or in May are invited to participate in the May Commencement. Diplomas are mailed to candidates who meet all graduation requirements 4-6 weeks after commencement.
Students completing graduation requirements at the completion of the summer term are also invited to participate in the May Commencement but will not receive their diploma until degree or certificate requirements are met.
