DSCC has multiple options for students ready to start a new career or take their skills to the next level in their field.

The Associate of Applied Science (AAS) - Engineering Systems Technology concentration is designed to prepare students for employment or advancement in a manufacturing or industrial environment immediately following graduation. Skills obtained in this program could be applied to a variety of settings, including electrical, mechanical, or processes.

Degree Plan Requirements for the Engineering Systems Technology (AAS) concentration by catalog year:
2020-2021, 2019-2020, 2018-2019, 2017-2018, 2016-2017

 Jobs are found in manufacturing and other commercial service industries. Salaries can range from $48,410 to $80,870.

Typical jobs: Electro-mechanical Technicians, Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technicians, Electric Motor, Power Tool, and related repairers, Electrical and Electronics Repairers (commercial and industrial), Electrical and Electronics Installers and Repairers, Electrical Power-line Installers and Repairers, Electricians, Elevator Installers and Repairers, Industrial Machinery Mechanics, Industrial Engineering Technicians, and Wind Turbine Service Technicians.

Other jobs students earning certificates or those who complete the degree could be better qualified for are: QUALITY TECHNICIANS, SUPERVISORY JOBS, and various ADVANCED PRODUCTION JOBS. These may include some of the following: Inspectors, Testers, Sorters, Samplers, Weighers, Automated Manufacturing Technicians, Manufacturing Technicians, Coil Winders, Samplers, Sorters, Machine Feeders, Packaging and Filling Machine Operators, Plant and Systems Operators, and Team Assemblers.

DSCC has four different certificates designed to meet your needs.

The Certified Production Technician certificate provides students with the course work necessary to take a national examination to receive certification from the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council as a Certified Production Technician.
