Where is the Practice test given?
FAQ Answer: The practice test is administered at the Dyer County Literacy Program located in the Dyer County Adult Education Center at 115 King Ave., Dyersburg, TN 38024.
If I scored 410 on all of my tests, why did I not pass?
FAQ Answer: The average for all five subject area tests must be 450.
Where can I take the PRAXIS?
FAQ Answer: The computer-based PRAXIS is offered at the University of Memphis , and the University of Tennessee at Martin. The paper-based PRAXIS is offered at Lane College and Union University in Jackson and the University of Tennessee at Martin. Check www.ets.org for dates and registration information.
Can I take the PRAXIS at DSCC?
FAQ Answer: No. However , the computer-based PRAXIS is offered at Lambuth University in Jackson and by the University of Tennessee at Martin. Can I get a duplicate diploma? How much is the cost?
FAQ Answer: The student completes a form that is sent to the State GED Office in Nashville. There is no cost for a duplicate diploma.
When can I retest if I didn't pass my GED?
FAQ Answer: There is a 30 day waiting period before you can take the GED test again.
When do I get my GED diploma?
FAQ Answer: The State GED Office in Nashville issues the GED diplomas. It typically takes 6-8 weeks after the student receives their score transcript in the mail.
When do the nursing classes start?
FAQ Answer:

Traditional class: Dyersburg classes begin in the Fall semester and classes at the JNC begin in the Spring semester.

LPN-RN class: Begins in May of each year.

Paramedic-RN class: Dyersburg classes begin in the Fall semester and classes at the JNC begin in the Spring semester.

What are the requirements for admission to the LPN-RN nursing program?
FAQ Answer:

You must have a GPA of 2.5 or above, successfully completed all Learning Support courses, taken the TEAS Exam, and completed a current nursing application. The pre-requisites are Anatomy & Physiology I, English Composition I and Introduction to Psychology. TEAS exam score is good for three years.

When is the nursing program application deadline?
FAQ Answer:

Traditional class:  Dyersburg campus application deadline is March 1 with courses to begin in the Fall. Jimmy Naifeh Center (JNC) at Tipton County application deadline is Sept. 1 with courses to begin in the Spring.

LPN-RN class:  Dyersburg campus application deadline is Dec. 31 with courses to begin in May. There is no LPN-RN class at the JNC.

Paramedic-RN class: JNC at Tipton County application deadline is Sept. 1 with courses to begin in the Spring. The Dyersburg application deadline is March 1 with courses to begin in the Fall.
