Dyersburg State Community College will grant credit for military service, both active and reserve, based on recommendations of the American Council on Education and the Community College of the Air Force, when the granting of that credit is appropriate to the students current educational goals. As a service member, you may be eligible to receive credit for prior college-level learning, and military training and experience. The portion of a student’s transfer credit, which, when applied to the student’s specific degree program, shortens that program. To receive credit for these courses, the students must present a copy of their DD 214 (Separation from Military Service) and joint service transcript.
Prior Learning Assessment is a way for you to earn college credit for things you already know or classes you have already completed.
Knowledge and skills acquired from military service may be converted into college credit.
