Basic Electrical I Course

Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) is now offering a Basic Electrical I course through the Division of Continuing Education.
Date: Nov. 19, 21, 22 and Dec. 3, 5, 6, 10, 12, 17, 19
Time: 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Location: DSCC Advanced Manufacturing Classroom (located behind the E.H. Lannom, Jr. Gymnasium)
Cost: $1,250 (40 hours)

Learning Objectives
• Electrical symbols and line diagrams
• Specialized electronic devices
• Reading electrical diagrams
• Strip, clean, and rewire an electrical panel drawing
Class Overview
Introduces electrical power systems used in industry. Provides introductory theory and application of AC/DC circuits, controls, transformers and
operation of DC power supplies.
Lab
Focuses on the installation of electrical industrial systems, including print reading, wiring/box selection, component installation, raceways and conduit, control wiring, and wiring techniques.
