Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) is proud to showcase the artwork of the Tipton Art League at the Jimmy Naifeh Center in Covington through October 1, 2025.

The public is welcome to attend an Artists’ Reception at the Jimmy Naifeh Center on Monday, September 22, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Attendees will have the chance to meet the exhibiting artists and view a diverse range of paintings and photographs on display.

This special exhibition is a partnership among DSCC, the Tipton Art League, and the Jimmy Naifeh Center in Covington. Participating artists include Jenny Brandon, Ruth Bryant, Lynda Davison, Barrie Foster, Judi Guerrant, Robin London Horn, Tammy Langlois, Barbara Flowers McBride, Rachel Surat, Patsy Turner, and Jean Wheeler.

The exhibit showcases diverse artwork, including landscapes, florals, abstracts, and self-portraits. Highlights include:

  • Barbara Flowers McBride’s vibrant depictions of everyday life.
  • Jenny Brandon’s abstract works, Persistence, Effort, and Resistance, reflect her journey in art.
  • Judi Guerrant and Robin London Horn’s self-portraits express powerful emotions.
  • Lynda Davison’s floral artwork celebrates the beauty of nature.
  • Patsy Turner’s seascapes are inspired by distant oceans.
  • Ruth Bryant and Rachel Surat’s paintings depict local places in thought-provoking ways.

Artists have used various forms of media, including chalk pastel, acrylic, oil, watercolor, and mixed media. Many pieces will be available for purchase.

The Tipton Art League aims to enrich the community by showcasing original fine art in public exhibits and organizing community art activities. Membership is open to all artists, not just those in Tipton County.
