On December 6, 2025, Callie McDonald was honored with the L. Quentin Lane Pinnacle Award for Academic Excellence in recognition of her outstanding classroom achievements as a member of both the Women’s Soccer and Women’s Basketball teams for the 2024-2025 academic year.

The L. Quentin Lane Pinnacle Award is awarded to the graduating student athlete in each sport with the highest GPA in the state. McDonald received it in two separate sports.

Dr. Amanda Walker, Vice President of External Affairs, shared, “We are extremely proud of the exceptional academic success Callie achieved as a student athlete at Dyersburg State. Her dedication and excellence have brought great distinction to both her teams and the College.”

McDonald is playing soccer at Blue Mountain College this semester and plans to finish her undergraduate degree at the University of Tennessee at Martin in the spring before attending medical school.

With her sights set high, McDonald plans to attend medical school after graduation, further demonstrating her ambition and commitment to excellence.
