Artwork by members of the Memphis Calligraphy Guild is currently on display in the exhibit “The Earth Has Music” at the Jimmy Naifeh Center in Covington. The exhibit features the work of John Covey, George Harmeling, Peggy Kunkel, Beth Mitchell, Norma Powell, and Ann Rabinovitz and will remain on display through January 11, 2027.
The public is invited to attend an Artists’ Reception on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. at the Jimmy Naifeh Center, located at 3149 Highway 51 South in Covington. Refreshments will be served. Staff members of Dyersburg State Community College, members of the Tipton Art League, and Lisa Keith of Liberty Vintage Marketplace and Studio will welcome visitors to the August 15 reception.
“The Earth Has Music” is sponsored by Dyersburg State Community College, the Jimmy Naifeh Center in Covington, the Tipton Art League, and Liberty Vintage Marketplace and Studio. The artists featured in the exhibit bring a wide range of experience and artistic perspectives to the show.
Founded in 1987, the Memphis Calligraphy Guild is dedicated to the promotion and appreciation of the art of beautiful writing. The guild has presented several exhibitions at the Dixon Gallery and Gardens in Memphis and meets via Zoom on the first Monday of each month at 6 p.m.
