Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) Workforce Development will offer a short-term, non-credit Supervisory Management Certificate this fall through its Department of Workforce Development.

The program is designed for current managers and individuals aspiring to move into leadership roles throughout West Tennessee.

Classes will be held in person on the Dyersburg campus on Sept. 28, Oct. 26, and Nov. 16 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

The course fee is $1,499. Lunch will be provided during each session. Participants may register online.

The coursework focuses on high-impact supervisory management skills that can be applied immediately in professional settings across retail, office, manufacturing, nonprofit, and hospitality environments.

Participants will learn about various management styles, effective communication and feedback techniques, goal setting, and emotional intelligence. They will also identify and develop their personal leadership styles, learn how to motivate diverse workforces, make ethical business decisions, and improve their time management skills.

Participants who complete the program will receive a certificate of completion from DSCC.

Paul Boyles, president of Paul Boyles Executive Coaching LLC in Maryville, Tennessee, will serve as the course instructor. He has more than 35 years of progressive human resources experience in the manufacturing, government, and hotel and casino industries. Boyles earned a Bachelor of Science degree in management from the University of Scranton.
