The Dyersburg State Community College Department of Workforce Development will host a special leadership development workshop, How to Get a Return on Failure, on Thursday, Nov. 5, from 8 a.m. to noon on the college’s main Dyersburg campus in the Workforce Development classroom at the Security Bank Community Learning Center.

Based on the leadership principles outlined in John C. Maxwell’s book, the workshop is designed to help participants transform setbacks into opportunities for growth and success. The program is intended for aspiring leaders as well as experienced professionals currently serving in leadership roles.

The registration fee is $249 per person. Online registration is available at https://bit.ly/4ARxmH2.

Maxwell, a No. 1 New York Times bestselling author, coach, and speaker, is widely recognized as one of the nation’s foremost leadership authorities. Through this workshop, participants will learn practical strategies for developing resilience, leading through challenges, and fostering personal and organizational growth.

The workshop will be facilitated by Randy Bridges, a certified Maxwell speaker, coach, and trainer. Bridges will guide participants through four key modules:

  • See Failure as an Investment
  • Keep Success and Failure Together
  • Lead Others Through Failure
  • Bold Leadership Commitment

Each attendee will receive a participant guide covering all four modules to support notetaking, reflection, and application of the concepts discussed during the session.

“This workshop provides leaders with practical tools to reframe failure, strengthen resilience, and inspire growth within their organizations,” said Darrin Devault, director of DSCC Workforce Development. “Participants will leave with actionable strategies they can apply immediately in both their professional and personal lives.”

A veteran-owned business leader, Bridges is the founder of WRB Efficiency Group in Obion, Tennessee. He is an organizational efficiency consultant with more than 25 years of leadership experience in human resources, operations, and service delivery across federal and private-sector environments.
