The ACCUPLACER® exam is designed to assess the academic skills needed for student success in college. Degree-seeking First-time Freshman or Transfer students may take the ACCUPLACER Exam once for free and a second time for a fee of $10.00 to challenge the learning support requirement in reading, writing, and mathematics.

Students are encouraged to complete the free ACCUPLACER Brush-Up practice test prior to taking the test. The Academic Success Center offers this free service to prepare students to take the ACCUPLACER test.

The ACCUPLACER exam is NOT timed.

There is no fee for taking the initial exam for eligible DSCC applicants.

ACCUPLACER tests your academic preparation in three areas: Reading, Writing, and Mathematics. Scores and placement results will be discussed immediately at the conclusion of the ACCUPLACER exam with each individual test taker.

This will provide free practice materials such as an ACCUPLACER Study Application, and a “Look Inside the Test.” Be sure to use the “Next-Generation” Reading, Writing, and Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra, and Statistics (QAS) Mathematics tests.
