The ACT®
The ACT® is a standardized college readiness exam used to determine placement in math, English, and reading. In Tennessee, scores may be used to determine eligibility for certain state financial aid programs. Learn more and register for an ACT® exam at ACT.org.
- ACT® scores may be transferred to another school.
- Register for the ACT® at ACT.org. Fee payment is made directly to ACT.org.

The ACT On-campus® is provided by the Testing Center upon request to applicants for admission for the purposes of course placement at DSCC only. ACT On-campus® scores cannot be transferred to another school and cannot be used to determine eligibility for any financial aid programs.
- ACT On-campus® is only available through the Testing Center on the Dyersburg Campus and the Jimmy Naifeh Center at Tipton County.
- The testing fee for ACT On-campus® is $72.00 paid in advance at a DSCC One Stop Center. The test taker will need to bring the fee receipt and a photo ID on the day of the test.
- Test takers may use a calculator only on the Mathematics ACT On-campus® test. A calculator is not required to test and the test taker is responsible for knowing if the calculator they plan to use is permitted. Check the ACT Calculator Policy.
