Getting Started Checklist

Apply to DSCC and receive acceptance letter.
Meet admission requirements.
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Provide any documents requested by Financial Aid.
Save your letter containing your DSCC Username and Password.
If needed, contact the Counselor/ADA Coordinator to discuss services available to students with a disability.
Meet with an academic master advisor at one of the One Stop Centers to register for classes, including ORN 1010 Orientation: Learning to Succeed.
Sign up for and attend a New Student Orientation session or a New Adult Student Orientation. If you cannot attend a session in person, access the Online Orientation found within MyDSCC.
If applicable, learn more about online courses and complete the orientation to online courses.
Get your Student Photo ID and parking permit at a DSCC Learning Resource Center (LRC). (There is no additional cost for the ID or permit.)
Review DSCC Attendance Policy, Financial Aid Satisfactory Progress Standards Policy, & other DSCC policies in the DSCC Catalog and Student Handbook.
Learn more about college security and sign up for RAVE.
Check your MyDSCC email regularly. Offices like Admissions, Records, Financial Aid, and the Business Office only communicate with you by email.
Pay and confirm enrollment.
Buy textbooks and supplies. Students receiving financial aid may be able to utilize a Book Voucher so they can purchase textbooks before classes begin.
Attend every class and look forward to graduation.
