Critical Care Paramedic
Dyersburg State Community College offers official critical care paramedic training, qualifying students for critical care endorsement by the state of Tennessee. The program includes over 150 hours of classroom instruction and rotations.
Workforce Development courses are non-credit. Participants who complete Workforce Development courses are awarded Continuing Education Units (CEUs) which affirms the total number of hours completed and student success in the course(s).
Minimum Admission Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience as a Tennessee-licensed paramedic
- Background check with a “Green” or “Pass” score completed within 90 days of the clinical
- Current certifications required:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Healthcare Provider Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Advanced trauma certification:
- PHTLS (Prehospital Trauma Life Support) or ITLS (International Trauma Life Support)
Cost: $1,550
Not included (student responsibility):
+ $80 testing fee
+ Two-step TB skin test (within the last year)
+ Immunizations/titers or lab work: MMR, Varicella, Hep B, Rubella, Tetanus, and Health Insurance
