Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) held its annual Foundation Board Meeting and Donor Recognition Dinner on July 23 in the Student Center on the Dyersburg campus. DSCC faculty, staff, Foundation Board members, and guests attended the special event.

DSCC President Dr. Scott Cook introduced Mr. Cris Perkins, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Strategic Advancement with the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR), who presented the Regents’ and Chancellor’s Awards. The Regents’ Award was presented to Ripley Power and Light Company in recognition of its $200,000 contribution. The Chancellor’s Award was presented to Faith Deliverance Apostolic Church, which donated $67,810.

At this year’s annual Foundation Board Meeting, DSCC began a new tradition by recognizing the top three donors, both individual and corporate, from last year and this year. The following top individual donors for 2024-25 were recognized: Bill and Judy Boehmler, Bob and Cindy Jones, and Joe and Kathy Griggs. The top corporate donors for 2024-25, recognized for their generous contributions, were First Citizens National Bank, DOT Foods, Inc., and Ripley Power & Light.

The following top individual donors for 2025-26 were also recognized: Bill and Judy Boehmler, Joe and Kathy Griggs, and Warren Nunn. The top corporate donors for 2025-26, recognized for their generous contributions, were Patriot Bank, FCNB, and Bridgestone Firestone.

In addition to the philanthropy awards and top donor presentations, a brief business meeting was held. During the meeting, Mr. Rob Goad of Henry County was approved as a new member of the DSCC Foundation Board of Directors.

The DSCC Foundation extends its appreciation to White Squirrel Winery for sponsoring the beverages served during the dinner.

The DSCC Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established to promote and support DSCC’s mission. Earnings from Foundation Endowment Funds provide assistance to the College and its students. Contributions to the DSCC Foundation are tax-deductible. Bequests, legacies, devises, transfers, or gifts to the DSCC Foundation, or for its use, are deductible for federal estate and gift tax purposes if they meet the applicable provisions of Internal Revenue Code Sections 2055, 2106, and 2522.
