Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) Workforce Development will offer a 40-hour Basic Electrical I training course that provides participants with hands-on experience with electrical power systems used in industry. The training includes an introduction to theory and application of AC/DC circuits, controls, transformers, and operation of power supplies.
The course will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from October 20 through November 19 at the college’s main campus in Dyersburg. Classes will meet from 5 to 9 p.m. The course fee is $1,699. Registration is currently open and may be completed online at: https://bit.ly/3V9hrDy.
Participants will focus on installing industrial electrical systems, including print reading, wiring/box selection, component installation, control wiring, and wiring techniques.
The training will focus on industry-relevant skills and concepts, including:
- Electrical symbols and line diagrams
- Specialized electronic devices
- Electrical diagrams
- Electrical panel drawings
The course is designed for individuals seeking to enhance their technical skills, advance their careers in manufacturing and industrial maintenance, or gain knowledge of automated control systems used across a variety of industries.
Instruction will be provided by Ronald Baker and Terry Howard, who have a combined 100 years of experience in the electrical and technical fields.
