Enrollment

You’re taking classes while in high school! Check out the admissions requirements for dual enrollment students below.

Admission Requirements

  • Must be a high school junior or senior.
  • Must have at least a 3.00 cumulative high school GPA. An exception to this condition may be made at the recommendation of the high school counselor or principal or the high school teacher in the subject area of interest.
  • Must meet course prerequisite requirements.
  • Are eligible to receive the Dual Enrollment Grant.

Ready to apply?   Follow the steps below:

  1. Obtain Permission
    1. Talk to your school counselor and parents about the DSCC Dual Enrollment Program. Discuss your educational plans as well as the tuition/fees involved in taking a college course during high school.
  2. Complete an Application
    1. Complete the online Dual Enrollment admissions application.
  3. Submit a signed copy of the Parent Signature Form to your guidance counselor or high school official.
  4. Request Documentation
    1. Transcripts
      1. Submit an official copy of your high school transcript indicating a 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as well as ACT scores.
    2. Immunizations
      1. Provide proof of immunizations

  5. Tennessee Dual Enrollment Grant
    1. Apply for the Tennessee Dual Enrollment Grant
  6. Receive Acceptance
    1. A letter of acceptance will be sent to you from the Office of Enrollment Services letting you know your next steps.
  7. Pay Fee Balance
    1. Pay any balance owed or set up deferred payment arrangements at DSCC Student Financial Services by the advertised deadline. Dependents of public school teachers and TBR or UT employees may qualify for a discount. Discount forms can be obtained from the parent’s employer and should be received by Student Financial Services by the deadline to pay fees. Dual Enrollment Grant Deadlines

Apply for the Dual Enrollment Grant each semester by these deadlines:
Fall – September 15
Spring – February 1
Summer – May 15
