DSCC offers multiple options for students who are ready to begin a new career or take their skills to the next level in their chosen field.
The Engineering Systems Technology A.A.S. provides hands-on training and technical knowledge for careers in industrial maintenance, automation, and robotics. We offer self-paced courses. We prepare students by focusing on electrical systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and mechanical troubleshooting as well as basic robotics, automated controls, and hydraulics and pneumatics. We are accredited by ATMAE.

- Certified Production Technician (CPT) – 12 Hours

Potential Career Paths
Industrial Maintenance & Manufacturing
- Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician: Maintains and repairs automated electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical machinery.
- Automation / Controls Engineer: Programs and troubleshoots Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and industrial robotics.
- Director / Instructor of Engineering Systems Technology: Manages technical training programs, teaches lab-based manufacturing courses, and partners with regional industrial employers.
Systems Integration & Design
- Systems Integration Engineer: Combines different hardware and software sub-systems into a single, smooth-running operational framework.
- Quality / Process Engineer: Analyzes production data and uses continuous improvement methods to reduce errors and optimize output.
- Field Service Technician: Installs, tests, and repairs specialized mechanical or electrical equipment on-site for various clients.
Expected starting salary range is $19 to $28 per hour. With experience, up to $38 per hour.
