Health Information Management Mission:

In concert with the mission statement of Dyersburg State Community College, the Health Information Management Program at Dyersburg State Community College enables students to improve their educational attainment through completion of the Associate of Applied Science degree in Health Information Management. This degree provides students with the technical skills of collection, analysis, and use of health information, which are essential to the health care industry. Attainment of the degree also prepares students to obtain RHIT certification.

In addition, the Health Information Management Program offers students opportunities for employment as highly-respected and skilled allied health professionals who contribute to quality care without having direct patient contact. Employment opportunities are found in hospital health information departments, clinics, surgery centers, health maintenance organizations (HMOs), home health agencies, hospices, hospital computer vendors, private industry, and other health-related agencies.
