Dyersburg, TN – On April 30, 2025, Brianna Bolton, a Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) student, proudly presented her honors capstone project, “Literacy and Liberation: Confronting the Literacy Crisis in America,” at the Jimmy Naifeh Center (JNC) library. The project addresses the vital issues surrounding the literacy challenges facing many Americans today.
Bolton’s insightful poster, which complements her research and recommendations, is currently on display at the JNC library and will be available for viewing through the end of summer. This initiative showcases her commitment to social issues and aims to facilitate meaningful conversations within the community about the role of literacy.
Dr. Brian Wells, Chair of the Honors Committee, remarked on Brianna Bolton’s time at DSCC, stating, “Brianna represented DSCC exceptionally well and showcased the extensive work expected from honors students. Her project was not only impressive but also applicable.”
